Every country in the world is affected by human trafficking. Right now, more than ever, the dark truths are being revealed and are unraveling at the seams. The darkness is coming to the light and many eyes are opening to these harrowing realities.
Thousands of men, women, and children end up in the hands of traffickers every year, often through the belief that they are being taken to work so that their family will be better off, or through force, kidnap, or even through very poor families selling children in order to survive.
The most common abuse, when women, men, or children are exploited in the commercial sex industry, that can include prostitution, pornography, brothels, etc.
There are many other ways that people can get caught up in trafficking, but the result is the same. Their rights and identity are stolen and they are exploited and abused. We don't even have a true grasp on how many have been killed in the pipeline.
Here are some practical steps for you to join an participate on JULY 30th.
It may not feel like a huge impact, but start where you are and use your network. Your friends and family, to your coworkers and social media. There are many avenues that you can utilize your platform to bring awareness.

This is a practical way that you can tangibly serve survivors of trafficking and abuse. Get involved in your local rehabilitation center for survivors. Coordinate a team of people to serve their organization in whatever way is needed, or raise a donation drive.
